CAEDA MEMBERSHIP/FORWARD CASPER

What is CAEDA Membership/Forward Casper?
Forward Casper is a membership consisting of businesses, individuals, non-profits and other groups who wish to invest in their community and improve the economic quality of life in Natrona County. Forward Casper was created in 2001 enabling CAEDA to capitalize on   opportunities as they arise in transportation, infrastructure, and workforce development. These funds can also serve as private incentive dollars to engage business.  A wide variety of businesses in the area have already been helped by CAEDA-Forward Casper efforts and more opportunities are on the horizon.

Why partner with CAEDA?
Economic Development is a set of programs, policies, and activities that seek to create jobs, increase wealth, improve the business climate, quality of life, and influence the growth of an economy.  Economic Development leads to positive changes in our community.  It can increase the tax revenue base without raising taxes, lead to more and better paying jobs,  increase business retention, promote economic diversification, and can also be a  productive way to use vacant or underutilized  property.  Economic Development is important because it results in a higher standard of living for all citizens.

What exactly does CAEDA do?
CAEDA makes relocating, expanding or starting a business easier by providing consulting services and serves as the point of contact for all resources necessary to make an informed decision.

CAEDA assists companies by:
1) Providing up-to-date economic and industry data,
2) Coordinating partnerships with the City of Casper, the Towns of Mills, Evansville, Bar Nunn, Midwest, and Edgerton, Natrona County, Casper Chamber of Commerce, Wyoming Business Council, property owners and others
3) Outlining a step by step process with all of the information and contacts necessary to get the project completed by taking on the role as “deal maker” or leveraging some of CAEDA’s assets to provide financial assistance or an incentive.

Recruitment
Attracting new businesses and industries to the area that complement and enhance the existing economic base, and facilitating those projects as necessary.

Existing Business
Providing resources and assisting local businesses to improve profitability, diversify sales, expand product lines, and recruit and maintain a quality workforce.

Start-up Businesses
CAEDA has established the Casper Area Innovation Center which offers programs, services and facilities to collectively support the successful development and growth of start-up and early stage companies.

Employees
CAEDA puts businesses in touch with educational facilities that can provide customized training. Workforce training is usually provided by CAEDA’s Community partners: Casper College, McMurry Training Center, University of Wyoming, Natrona County School District, various trade schools and government training divisions.

Advocacy
CAEDA serves as an advocate on behalf of existing and potential businesses in Natrona County to influence public policy and resource allocation decisions that benefit the local business climate. (Manufacturing exemption or data center exemptions)

Services provided by CAEDA are made achievable through a combination of public and private investment. Those who invest in CAEDA do so because of a strong commitment to a stable, diversified economy; a competitive, dynamic workforce; a widespread, proactive infrastructure; an environment conducive for the creation of new businesses; and a commitment to regional cooperation.
