The Casper Area Innovation
Center is scheduled to open in the fall of 2012. This much
anticipated facility will be home to new start-up, start over,
soft landing, and youth entrepreneurial activities.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to assist clients in the formation and development
of new enterprises and enable their success.
Demographics
The Casper Area Innovation Center is a 40,000 square foot multi-use
facility. The
premises will accommodate those companies in need of a wet lab
environment, co-working space, state of the art large and small
conferencing spaces, full service work room, library/training areas,
and fully furnished individual office spaces.
Best Practices
The Casper Area Innovation Center will adopt all best practices
as they are determined by the National Business Incubation Association. This
includes having a comprehensive training program within the Innovation
Center in order to prepare Client companies for growing and maintaining
a viable business. In addition,
Client companies will each have a mentoring board which will set milestones to
accomplish each quarter. Client companies will also have access to our
Service Provider Network as well as the Innovation Center staff who will be available
for consulting. The Innovation Center will be a vibrant, energetic, dynamic
environment in which to grow a business.
Growth Cycle
Typically, a Client company will enter the Innovation Center in
the very early start-up phase of their business. This is
actually the best time to access the resources of the incubator. However,
there are instances where a company might be a “start over” company,
or a “soft landing” company. Either
one of these situations will be unique and might require additional counseling
and mentoring. We welcome all applicants and will find the best solution
for their individual needs.
Partnerships
The Innovation Center will partner with many entities within the
community. Partners will include the Small Business Development
Center, University of Wyoming, the service providers within the
Natrona County/Casper area, the National Business Incubation
Association, the Rocky Mountain Incubation Collaborative, the
Wyoming Business Council, the Amoco Reuse Agreement Joint Powers
Board, the Economic Development Joint Powers Board, and the CAEDA
Board. The Casper Area Innovation Center belongs to the
people of Casper, Natrona County, and the State of Wyoming.
Admissions Process
Potential Clients of the Innovation Center will be invited to
access our online registration on our website. Once the registration
is completed, they will click on the SEND button and it will arrive
on the director’s desktop computer. The director will
then evaluate the submission, research the industry market, and
contact the Client for an in person interview. Decisions
will be made after these initial contacts as to whether or not
the Client Company would be a good fit for the Innovation Center.
Goals
Quite simply, the goal of the Innovation Center is to help companies
become successful and then graduate them into the Casper community
as viable, sustainable companies that will contribute to the economic
growth, culture, and social enterprise of our area.
